The Hill City Handmade will be hosting its Holiday Market this Saturday, Nov. 4. The event is being held at the Urban Arts Garage located in Downtown Lynchburg at 1001 Commerce Street. Bold Rock Barrel Barn Opens its Doors

Bold Rock Cidery has made a name for itself on the Nelson 151 Trail and beyond. They have continued to be a success since their opening in 2010. Bold Rock is celebrating this success with a grand opening for their “new” Barrel Barn on Saturday, Oct. 28.

What started as a production barn several years ago has been converted into an intimate tap room and small batch crafting facility. (more…)

There are many upcoming Halloween and fall festivities in the Lynchburg area. These events include Scaremare, Candlelight tours and a Haunted Harvest Cornfield.

Scaremare, hosted by Liberty University, will be running Oct. 19-21 and Oct. 26-28. The event is known for its funhouse rooms and scenes of death which raise questions of what happens after we die. Each trip through Scaremare lasts approximately 40 minutes. The gates open at 7:30 p.m. and remain open through 11 p.m. Students who show their college ID on Thursday nights will receive discounted tickets for $5 apiece. Tickets can be purchased at the gates with cash only. The event is being hosted at 2300 Carroll Ave., Lynchburg, Va. 24501. Everyday is Halloween

The Lynchburg Gothic League is bringing Everyday is Halloween: The Dark Side of the 80s back to downtown Lynchburg. Everyday is Halloween is an all-ages DJ night held once a month that focuses on old-school gothic rock, punk rock and 80s new wave.

The first DJ night will be held Friday, October 20 at Fifth Street Grind. Local mortician Patrick Hubble (DJ Undertaker) will not only be performing, but is the man that worked to bring this event back after a several year hiatus. (more…)

The Bedford County Fair is back at Glenwood Oil and Automotive, Inc. starting this Thursday, Sept. 28 and lasting through Sunday, Oct. 1.

The Bedford County Agricultural Economic Development Advisory Board joined forces with the Bedford County Tourism Department to bring the fair back after a nearly 45-year hiatus. Gaining more popularity every year since its 2015 return, the Bedford County Fair is quite the attraction for rural Huddleston. (more…)

Peaks of Otter Winery Turns 21

The Peaks of Otter Winery is hosting its 21st birthday party on Saturday, Sept. 23, and the public is invited. The event will begin at 5 p.m., and the party will last until 11 a.m. the following morning for those that are interested.

To celebrate their 21st anniversary, the winery has enlisted the help of local band Long Strange Night. They are a Grateful Dead and Beatles cover band that has gained popularity in the area for the last several years. They will be playing all night and may be seen at the post-party camping option that is available to attendees. (more…)

During Central Virginia Fashion Week, which will take place Monday, Sept. 11 through Saturday, Sept. 16, local clothing businesses will debut their new merchandise, and two fashion shows will showcase the new fashions from local designers and local businesses.
