As of Tuesday, April 24, it has been made official that Rob Gronkowski will be returning in the 2018-19 season for the New England Patriots, and if you’re a fan of the Pats you have to love this.
A lot of speculation hovered around the return or possible retirement of no. 87 this season. Numerous back and knee surgeries suggested that Gronk could be retiring, and there were also rumors saying that the legendary trio of Belichick, Brady and Gronk could be breaking soon too. However, Coach Belichick and Gronk met and after talking, he went to social media to announce he will be staying with the Patriots for another season.

Gronk is, of course, one of the most valuable tight ends in the league and has been in New England all his career. Over the span of his career, Gronk has had a total of 474 catches, 7,179 yards and 76 touchdowns. In the 2017-18 season alone he put up 69 catches, 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns, making him one of (if not) the best tight ends in NFL history. Gronk and the Pats just solidified their offense and is looking for one more run to the Super Bowl, but it won’t be easy. This season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive yet with numerous offseason trades, free agency pickups and let’s not forget the young talent coming in from the draft.
