This past weekend the Lynchburg College women’s lacrosse team faced off against Frostburg State and Albright College. The lady Hornets split the weekend by winning against Frostburg but falling short against Albright.
Their first game was on Saturday March 17 against Frostburg State. The game ended with a final score of 19-8, with LC on top. This game marked the first win of the 2018 season for the women’s lacrosse team. Scoring for LC in this game was contributed by eight different players. Leading the way was sophomore midfielder Danielle Hook who not only scored the game-high, but her career-high as well by contributing four goals.

Alongside Hook was fellow sophomore attackman Carly Sandler and junior attackman Alicia Sandoval with three goals. Senior midfielders Dorrie MacGregor and Sarah Suter added two goals, as did senior attackman Sidney Gleason and sophomore midfielder Kelsi Trevisan. First year midfielder Maysn Whitten contributed one goal respectively.
The next game for LC was the following day, Sunday March 18, against Albright. The Lady Hornets dropped this game at a final score of 13-9. They were lead by Sandoval who produced another three-goal game and added on an assist and two ground balls. MacGregor also produced for the Hornets two goals of her own and six ground balls. Senior goalie Chelsea Shultis produced seven saves in this game.
These two games moved their overall record to 1-5. They have yet to play a conference game but look to begin conference play on Saturday March 24 against Bridgewater College at home at 4:30 p.m.
