Sports Junkie: NFL Trades

Recently, there have been some big free agency moves in the NFL. ESPN released signings involving Richard Sherman, Jimmy Graham, and many more big-name athletes. So far this offseason free agency has been one of the hottest ones yet, and there’s still the NFL Draft to come.

Saturday, March 10, marked the day when the All-Pro defensive back, Richard Sherman, announced he signed with the San Francisco 49ers. After being released by his former team, the Seattle Seahawks, it only took Sherman a day or two to sign the contract and play for the Bay.

Sherman wasn’t the only player to leave Seattle this offseason. Before him, Seattle gave up Michael Bennett in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. Bennett, one of the elite defensive ends in the NFL, was a part of the Legion of Boom with Sherman. But now, that band has been broken Seattle has to rebuild their once great defense.

The Cleveland Browns took a turn for the great as well by making several rapid big signings involving two wide receivers, and a quarterback. Things look promising for the Browns as they signed former Dolphins wideout Jarvis Landry, adding to their deep rotation of receivers, not to mention Josh Gordon as well. But they wanted more, and they did get more by trading away their current quarterback Deshon Kizer, for the former Buffalo Bills quarterback , Tyrod Taylor.

Keep in mind the Browns still have the first pick in the draft which sources say they may use to draft Saquon Barkley from Pennsylvania State University. If this comes out to be the new and improved Cleveland offense, then the rest of the NFL better watch out.
