For this upcoming semester, I am taking a hefty amount of classes and doing several extra activities on campus, which means I have to take more time in managing my schedule and planning things ahead of time.
To do this I am making sure I stay up to date with my calendar, putting things like my assignment due dates or days that I need to make sure I remember what to read for my upcoming classes.
For example, I highly recommend using Google Calendar. I cannot stress how useful it is considering it sends you notifications, allows you to color code and label events, and you can sit down and put everything together in one day for the next few months.
However. In addition to organization, I am also managing my free time, and allowing myself to be alone. Doing things like relaxing, drawing, or finding a space away from people. I do not know about anyone else but I can’t function without having some sort of introverted time.
Having down time is not wrong, in fact it is encouraged to make sure you take breaks so that you can produce your best work. So doing things like napping and just relaxing in general compensate in the long run for your work quality and how well you work in class.
I also recommend doing work in small amounts, like essays. It helps with making sure you don’t fall behind and you are not stuck the night before writing it until 5 a.m.. It lets you have a more concise thought process with your writing or work.
This is what I think can benefit a student for this upcoming semester, although everyone’s minds work differently. Just remember to take care of yourself, that is the number one priority.
