The Sins of Sinister event has come out with its first two issues: Storm and The Brotherhood of Mutants and Nightcralwers.
These first two issues take place ten years after Sinister takes control of the world, and focuses on two different groups of mutants.
Storm and The Brotherhood of Mutants focuses on Storm and the only group of mutants left to fight against Sinister.
The beginning of the issue recaps the downfall of Mars and the deaths of most of Storm’s most powerful allies.
Storm now wears an outfit inspired by Magneto and is accompanied by mutants new and old in her fight against Sinister.
Tricked by Mystique, Storm and her brotherhood take the fight to one of Sinisters labs, looking for a way to rewrite the past ten years.
They encounter his mutant monstrosities, known as Chimeras that are combinations of some of Marvel’s most well known mutants, which are guarding his lab.
Storm and a new mutant, Ironfire, make their way to the lab, where they find a mysterious entity waiting for them.
It seems to be a new Chimera. However, it is teleported away by a disguised Mystique before Storm can get a good read on it.
Mystique then stabs Storm in an attempt to end the brotherhood by killing their leader and most powerful member.
Nightcrawlers issue one focuses on Vox Ignis as he releases The Legion of Night from the control of Sinister.
The Legion of Night is a group of Chimeras that are Nightcrawler combined with some of the deadliest mutants in Marvel.
Vox Ignis releases as many of them as he can in order to weaken Sinisters power over the world.
In doing so, the released Chimeras are given a new purpose, aiding Vox Ignis in raids all over the world, gathering weapons and finding more Nightcrawlers for their cause.
Nightcrawlers Issue 1
These two issues have shed light on the universe Sinister has created, and give the reader several lenses to look through during this arc.
As well, possibly the best thing about this arc are the resolutions from storylines prior to this, and how these events prior have all led up to this.
Immortal X-Men comes out this week, the final Year Ten issue, and all we know so far is that it will most likely be the view of the mutants under the control of Sinister.
