The holiday season has come and many places are already advertising Christmas and other holiday events.
On Thursday, November 29, the second annual Christmas Coffeehouse in Bedford will happen at Golf Park Coffee and Freedom 4/24 Headquarters from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Attendees will enjoy live music and local vendors, including The Birch, The Bear & The Bee and Ansgar Leather Co. While this event has free admission, 20% of all proceeds will be given to Freedom 4/24, who “bring freedom and justice to victims and survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking,” according to their website. Starting on Friday, November 30, and continuing until Thursday, December 6, Venue Cinemas will be showing the 2003 movie Elf, starring Will Ferrell. The movie is rated PG. A Seussified Christmas Carol will be performed at the Bower Center for the Arts in Bedford, Virginia, on Friday, November 30, and Saturday, December 1, at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, December 2, at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $10. The Appomattox Christmas Academy will host a Christmas Market on Friday, November 30, at 5pm and continued on Saturday, December 1, at 3:00 p.m. According to their Facebook event page, there will be “Pony Rides, special kid activities, [and a] gift wrapping station […] Food on Friday provided by St. Andrew’s REC Annual Fish Fry. The Lynchburg Community Market will become the Mistletoe Market on every Saturday from December 1 to December 22 from 7:00 a.mm to 3:00 p.m. December 1 and 8 will “have carriage rides and [you can] visit Santa and Mrs. Claus!”, according to their Facebook event page. The Reindeer Run 2 Miler will happen, rain or shine, on Saturday, December 1, from 9 to 11am. Sunday, December 2, will see the 59th Annual Lynchburg Christmas Parade at 4pm starting at Lynchburg City Stadium and ending at E.C. Glass High School, according to the Facebook event page. “Come out to see the Floats, Marching Bands, Music, Royal Princess of VA, Charlottesville Ballet, and Much More!” boasts the Facebook page.
