Christmas is right around the corner and it is never too early to start celebrating for Christmas.
It seems that every year, there is an ongoing debate as to when it is appropriate to deck the halls with boughs of holly. Are you a beginning of November type of person? The day after Thanksgiving? A week before Christmas? Everyone has their deep-rooted opinions about when the Christmas season should begin, but I am here to tell you that Christmas can start as early as you want. In my opinion, the earlier the better.
Before Thanksgiving, I had my Christmas tree decorated and up in my apartment before I left for Thanksgiving break. I also had the outside of my door decorated with Christmas décor and a Christmas doormat. There was even Christmas music playing a week before Thanksgiving was here. Some people might not like the Christmas music playing before Thanksgiving, but this type of stuff gets you into the Christmas spirit, and it just gives college students a thought of the long Christmas break they will have once their exams are over. Nothing puts me in a better mood than everything that has to do with Christmas. Christmas lights, music, decorations, Starbucks drinks, sweaters… you name it, and I’m on board with it.
Do not get me started on Christmas movies. 25 Days of Christmas? That is a favorite. Hallmark movies and any Netflix Christmas movies? Absolutely. Some of my all-time favorite movies are Christmas movies, so do not be surprised if you catch me watching one in the middle of July because I love all the sappy, love-filled Christmas movies from Hallmark. There is even a game now that you can play when you watch the Hallmark Christmas movies, which is pretty fun to do with friends when watching them.
Christmas parades are a popular thing back at home and in many different towns. I absolutely love Christmas parades and they are a MUST go to for me. When I was a little girl, I used to be in the town Christmas parades. I was in it every year with either my early learning school, dance studio, high school squad, or with the fire department. If I was not in it, I was still there to help with the parades. Just seeing the community come together without any drama and to have a good time is just happiness to my heart. I am hopefully going to be in one of the parades this year with the fire department, but we shall see.
Going to see Christmas lights are a MUST as well. I love to go to Virginia Beach to see the lights with the Christmas music that plays with them. I also love to go to Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens to see the Christmas décor and I love the hot chocolate that Busch Gardens serves.
Typically, after Christmas, there seems to be a bit of Christmas blues because once all of the hype of Christmas day is over with. It is kind of a big bummer. Once Christmas is over, we take down the décor. So why not put the Christmas décor up as soon as possible in order to get the maximum enjoyment out of them?
