Lynchburg Humane Society will host a monthly event on every second Friday to get children involved in the community.
Parents’ Night Out will be hosted on April 13, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Center for Pets. According to the Lynchburg Humane Society’s website, “Activities will include a tour of the facility, games, crafts, movies and petting puppies and kittens.”
Julie Barger, development director at Lynchburg Humane Society said, “Parents’ Night Out has been going on for about a year-and-a-half now and we usually have 10 to 15 participants a week.”

Barger said, “Parents’ Night Out is an event designed to get children more involved with the center, teach them about how to be a good pet owner, how to interact safely with pets, let them know what we do at the center and mainly give parents a break so that they can have a date for dinner or spend some time together, and their kids have a fun time while doing that.”
The age limit for Parents’ Night Out will be 5 to 12 years old. Parents will be required to pay $15.00 for one child and $10.00 for an additional sibling. Sign up now on Lynchburg Humane Society’s website.
Barger says, “We are always looking for ways to make money for the Lynchburg Humane Society, so we do charge for this event.”
Parents are encouraged to make date plans and bring children to Lynchburg Humane Society for a fun filled night with pets, games, movies and popcorn!
