Sunday, Nov. 5, brought plenty of action to viewers as we sat back and watched some football. Not only did we get the luxury of seeing one fight, but two fights actually took place during a couple of football games. Everybody loves action, and there was more than enough of that to go around.
One brawl involved the All-Pro wide receiver, A.J. Green, and lockdown cornerback, Jalen Ramsey. Green plays for the Cincinnati Bengals, while Ramsey has a place on the Jacksonville Jaguars’ roster. Each of these guys are at the top of their positions, respectively, and usually when two stars clash like that, things are bound to get interesting. During a play right before the half, Ramsey went to cover Green and a bit of shoving started up. Not long after the shoving, Green put Ramsey in a headlock, tossed him to the ground and just like that, shoving turned into punching and wrestling. Of course the referees and their teammates rush over to put a stop to the action, but the damage had been done. Both Green and Ramsey were ejected for the remainder of the game, and now the NFL will look into further punishment.

The second fight occurred during the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers match-up. Unlike the Green and Ramsey fight, this brawl didn’t take too long to erupt and wasn’t as subtle. It started off with the Bucks quarterback, Jameis Winston, “talking smack” to the Saints’ defensive back, Marshon Lattimore. Lattimore began to walk away, but Winston sought to antagonize him just a little more. Winston reached and tapped Lattimore’s helmet as he was walking away, and Lattimore did not appreciate that too much. In response, Lattimore turns and shoves Winston. In the blink of an eye, Buc’s wide receiver Mike Evans rushes over and flattens Lattimore on the sideline and gets on top of him. And just like that, another brawl is underway and both teams get in one big dog pile, before splitting up and resuming the game. Like his fellow wide receiver Green, Evans found himself in the locker room pretty early after that debacle.
The NFL is now looking into both scenarios, and determining if further punishment should be enforced on Green and Evans, for starting the drama and of course, initiating the contact in both fights. Whether or not there will be further punishment has not been made clear yet, but we can only imagine that a one-game suspension for both of them will most likely be issued.
