The Lynchburg Humane Society will hold its holiday fundraising event, the “Dedication of Lights,” from 3 to 5 p.m. on December 14.
Claire LeFew, development and communications manager at the Humane Society, highlighted that event participants can sponsor stars to honor loved ones and pets who have passed and indulge in festive activities like photos with Santa for children and their furry friends.
Abby Sheeley, a Humane Society volunteer, said, “We got involved with the Humane Society doing a donation program on behalf of BWXT. Last year at our Employee Appreciation event we had the humane society come and they brought some pets to our campus and just told us about what they do here, and we donated food and toys and money all that stuff.”
Allie Murray, the volunteer coordinator at the Humane Society, said they will also host the annual Elf Workshop. Two sessions, from 1 to 5 p.m. on December 21 and 23, are geared for children ages 7 to 12.
