The University of Lynchburg’s Hall Campus Ballroom will host the Second Annual International Food Festival on November 15 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Organized by the International Student Support Team, this event promises an immersive cultural experience with international cuisine, music, and traditions. Attendees can savor dishes from more than 14 countries, celebrating the diverse global community at the University.

Ngun Sui Zing, Coordinator of International Student Support, said she enjoyed the first International Food Festival and hopes everyone will learn something new at this year’s event. According to Zing, more than 200 people are expected to attend.

At this event, attendees can expect to enjoy authentic dishes prepared by students and community members, with a familiar taste of home for some and a tasty discovery for others. People will enjoy Kabuli food made by Afghani students and the taste of Momo made by Nepalese students.

But it’s not just about food. The evening will be filled with dynamic performances, including dance and music that showcase the melodies of the world. Tom Dijkstra, ‘28, a sports management major, said, “I will enjoy varieties of foods, music, and dance performances.”

Alongside cultural exchanges and culinary tastings, participants will showcase the beauty and pride of their heritage in a fashion show highlighting traditional attire from their home countries. “After the curtain falls on the evening, there will be two International Mr. and Miss Hornet Royalty, a reign that celebrates togetherness and cultural pride,” Zing said, noting the event’s significance.
