Valentine’s Day is a holiday dedicated to love and companionship above all else, so for those of us who are single during this holiday, it is possibly the worst time of year.
So in the spirit of disliking the season, here is a list of movies to watch instead of wasting money on a fancy dinner.
“Kill Bill”

“Kill Bill” is a cult classic and an iconic anti-romance movie.
If you have not seen the movie, it is about a woman, known as The Bride, looking for revenge after her former lover ruins her wedding and leaves her for dead.
Aside from the scorned lover trope, the movie is full of action sequences that will put a lot of movies to shame.
The action along with the immaculate storytelling makes for two insanely entertaining movies.
If you are looking for something that will make you feel great about hating that ex, this is the movie for you.
“La La Land”

While “La La Land” follows a love story between the two main characters, it is the ending that places this movie on the list.
The movie builds up this beautiful relationship just to have them inevitably break up to follow and achieve their dreams.
This alongside musical numbers, makes for a heartrending movie that will get all of those negative emotions out of your system.
“Saltburn”

A newer movie that was all over social media, Saltburn is one movie that will make you feel great about being single.
The movie has tons of graphic and odd scenes to keep the viewer entertained, in addition to being creeped out.
Regardless of how odd the movie can get, it follows one man’s path of essentially killing an entire family out of a misconception of what love is.
“Dark Shadows”

Who doesn’t love a love story involving a vampire?
This movie is about a man who got turned into a vampire by a witch that he rejected, who then also curses his later generations.
While he does get the girl in the end, it is not without killing her first, and that just is not a healthy relationship.
“How to Be Single”

“How to Be Single” is a wonderful movie for this season.
While being hilarious, the movie also does a great job of showing how to be independent and confident in your own life.
While the movie has a good amount of romance, the main point is to explore and have fun to become the best version of yourself.
