The Advising and Academic Resource Center hosted its spring Majors and Minors Fair last Tuesday in the Drysdale Student Center to expose students to campus course offerings.
As students prepare for the 2023-2024 school year, the Majors and Minors Fair also provided an opportunity for professors and staff to highlight their departments.
English Professor, Dr. Robin Bates said, “This is an important place for students to consider their opportunity and their direction, even for students that have already figured out their major or minor but they can supplement their course load.”
For students in need of electives, Writing in the Workplace Professor, Dr. Meghan McGuire says that taking interdisciplinary courses, like professional writing, looks good on resumes and can differentiate students as they enter the job market.
Claire Corte, senior, said, “I wanted to spread the love of my major of Spanish and so I’m here to support.” For lesser known majors and minors like Spanish, the Fair is important to publicize opportunities.
Sophomore, Josiah Randals said, “I want to continue to advertise the theater department not just for the majors and minors, but to grow and expand the community at the theater department.”
