The University of Lynchburg will officially inaugurate its first female president, Dr. Alison Morrison- Shetlar on Friday October 1, 2021 at 3 p.m. in the Dell.
There are a bevy of events ahead of Friday’s festivities including:
Sunday, Sept. 26 President’s Inaugural Prayer and Blessing Service
3 p.m. | Snidow Chapel
Students, faculty, and staff
Tuesday, Sept. 28 Tea, Toasts, and Tartans
3 p.m. | Koudelka Balcony
Faculty and staff are invited to an afternoon social with the president.
Wednesday, Sept. 29 Unveiling of the Lynchburg Tartan
4-6 p.m. | Schewel Hall Lobby, Reception Area
Friday, Oct. 1 Inauguration Ceremony
3 p.m. | Hopwood Hall Steps
The Inauguration Ceremony will also be livestreamed.
Inauguration Carnival
4-8 p.m. | Dell
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to enjoy an evening of food trucks, games, and music.
If there is inclement weather, Friday’s festivities will be held in the Turner Gymnasium.
