Club swim is back at the University of Lynchburg after multiple delays since it’s original launch in 2018.
Freshman, David Brady said, “it feels amazing to swim again. It’s a different experience from anything else. I feel tired but also energetic afterwards.”
Caroline Lancaster, a fellow member of the club swim team added, “I’m very excited about swimming again. Swimming is a great way for me to process and clear my thoughts.”
After a two year break from the presence of club swimming at the university, members appear to be ecstatic about the reappearance of club swim and their experience on the team.
“What I am excited about club swim is having more freedom over practices and swim meets. My experience so far has been great. Everyone in the club so far has been great as well,” said Lancaster.
‘“The most exciting thing about club swim is making new friends and becoming extremely close with them, and finding others who enjoy swimming. My experience on club swim has been amazing. Everyone is super nice to each other and if I need a ride, I can rely on someone to help me,” said Brady.
The university’s club swim team practices every Monday and Wednesday night at Crosswhite Athletic Center from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. and currently has 12 active members.
The team plans to travel to University of Maryland on Oct. 9 for their first swim meet of the season.
