End of semester is always a fireball of emotion as we consider our friends who are graduating and we weigh it against the excitement of a break from the academic grind.

I am excited to head home and delve into the holiday season, despite the shadow of COVID.

I understand that the pandemic may adversely affect some of the joy around the holiday season but I am a firm believer in finding joy even in the midst of uncertainty.

My housemates and I have been doing to get more into the season by watching holiday movies and shows on Netflix.

We also have been drinking a lot of hot cocoa and have been starting to listen to so many Christmas albums even though we are not yet  past Thanksgiving.

We have also hosted friendsgiving with my sorority.

Immersing ourselves in the holiday spirit has really helped to distract us from some of the stress of exams.

If the holiday season does not give you motivation to get grinding then you can always just relax by drinking tea and just have a self care night to make you feel better and not as overwhelmed. These always help me and can help you as well.

Moral of the story no matter if you celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa or Hanukkah just be happy because it is time to bring people together. Also remember to be safe over this holiday season!
