On Friday, Sept. 7, Like A Boss Sales, Networking & Events, LLC, will be hosting the Girls Day Out Craft/Vendor Event at the Family Life Community Center.
From 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the ladies of Lynchburg are invited to a craft and vendor event at 22059 Timberlake Rd. According to their Facebook page, “Grab a girlfriend (or two) and come out and join us for a fun afternoon of shopping, raffles, and more! There will be Swag Bags for the first 100 ladies!!”
On the New in Lynchburg page, the description for the event continues, “Admission is free, but if you reserve your free tickets before September 5, 2019, you will receive one free raffle ticket when you attend the event!
“This is the first time we are having this event,” said Melissa Bibb, the owner and operator of Like A Boss. “It is actually our first event in Lynchburg as a whole.”
“Because this is our first event in this location, as well as in Lynchburg, we have no way to estimate what attendance might be,” continued Bibb.
Tickets can be reserved at https://eventbrite.com/e/girls-day-out-craftvendor-event-tickets-70929174069. They are free, but reserving them online guarantees entry into the event.
About the tickets, Bibb said, “Shoppers who pick up their free ticket online will receive one free raffle ticket to enter the prize raffles when they attend the event.”
Girls Day Out will be supporting Unwavering Champions for Children and Families (UMFS). “As a nonprofit social service organization, we do whatever it takes to empower high-risk children, their families and communities throughout Virginia. From addressing behavioral and emotional issues to finding foster homes, UMFS never gives up,” UMFS says on their webpage.
“A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit UMFS,” said Bibb.
Some vendors at the event will be selling products from Thirty-One, Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, and Scentsy. “We currently have 15 vendors and still have room for a few more, if anyone is interested in joining us to promote their business,” said Bibb.
“I would love for everyone to know that we would greatly appreciate the community’s support for this event,” said Bibb, “both to support the local small businesses who will be vendors as well as UMFS.”
Like A Boss has several more events planned for the year. Fall Fest will occur on Sept. 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Nov. 1 has Vendor Bingo & Shopping Event scheduled from 6:00-10:00 p.m. Nov. 2 is a Small Business Saturday Shopping Event from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On Nov. 16, a Holiday Pop Up Shopping Mall is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Bibb said, “Portions from each of our events will go to some worthy cause so if there is an organization who is looking for a great way to get the word out about their cause [or] mission and raise some funds at the same time, they should feel free to contact me at likeabossnetworking@gmail.com.”
