Valentine’s Day is this week and who does not love Valentine’s Day? You might get candy and a stuffed animal from a friend, a lovely bouquet of roses from your boyfriend or girlfriend, or you could surprise your mom with flowers. Whichever way, Valentine’s Day is for everyone and it does not matter if you are single, in a relationship, or married: you can still enjoy Valentine’s Day. A lot of people just go out to dinner for Valentine’s Day, which is nice. You get to enjoy a night of not worrying about homework (as long as you get it done before the dinner) and stress. There are many amazing places to go to dinner in Lynchburg and I thought it would be nice to list fourteen places to take your girlfriend, boyfriend, or friend to dinner in Lynchburg.  So here we go. P.S., these are not in order from first to last. It is just a list of places that I like.

  1.     Chick-fil-A. Everyone loves Chick-fil-A and if you do not, I am so sorry for your loss. They always have a special on Valentine’s Day where you can get chicken minis or chicken nuggets in a heart shaped box. It is a cheap way to eat dinner, but you still get to enjoy Valentine’s Day dinner at a place you love.
  2.     Benny’s Scarpetta’s. If you have never been to Benny’s, you are definitely missing out. This is one of my favorite pizza places in Lynchburg. They have some of the biggest pieces of sliced pizza that you have ever seen. It might be a little messy when you eat, but this is a place where you can relax and chill while you both eat some huge pieces of pizza together. It is great; trust me on that.
  3.     {RA} Bistro. This place has amazing food whether it is the appetizer or the entrees, it is very, very good.
  4.     Market at Main. Market at Main is definitely one of my favorite places in Lynchburg. I go here almost every Sunday to get a breakfast biscuit. They have the most DELICIOUS sweet tea, and if you know me, I love sweet tea. They have good sandwiches and salads, as well, for a good price.
  5.     La Carreta. If you like Mexican food, this is the place to go. There are two La Carreta’s in Lynchburg and they are both delicious. I always get the tala vera, which is chicken on top of a bed of rice with queso cheese on top. It is delicious and for a good price.
  6.    Wasabi Japanese Steak House. I absolutely love Wasabi. The food is always tasty and that ginger salad dressing on the salads is the bomb.com.
  7.     Bootleggers. This place has good burgers and desserts. You should definitely try this place.
  8.     Fifth and Federal Station. It has some great BBQ and burgers.
  9.   Rendez-Vous. This is a new restaurant that serves French and Caribbean cuisine. I heard they are good from different people, but it is definitely one on my list to try.
  10.  The Water Dog. The Water Dog has good breakfast and dinner, so I would definitely check it out.
  11.  Shoemakers. Even though they are a bit on the pricey side, and very fancy, Shoemakers definitely has some delicious food. They have really good shrimp and crab dip appetizer, and salmon.
  12.  MayLynn’s Creamery Downtown. If you are looking for just dessert, MayLynn’s is the place to go. They have some of the most amazing rolled ice-cream you could die for. Plus, some of our graphic design students just redid their menus for them.
  13.  Small Batch BBQ. Small Batch just recently opened and my fianceé and I love this place. Their corn bread is so delicious. Also, their BBQ, wings, and mac and cheese is to die for. This is on the top of my recommendation list.
  14.  Macado’s. Macado’s is a place where you can go to get some really good nacho appetizers and they have a variety of food. You could get a burger, sandwich, or a quesadilla. You name it, and they have it.
