The Lynchburg Parks and Recreation will host Movies in the Park: The Incredibles to help bring the community together for a fun-filled night.
Movies in the Park: The Incredibles will be hosted on September 21, 2018. The movie will begin around 7:15-7:30 p.m. This film is rated PG and will run for 1 hour and 55 minutes. This year, Lynchburg Parks and Recreation created a Park Summer Season with different movies. They have hosted three movies prior to The Incredibles movies, including Moana, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
According to the Lynchburg Parks and Recreation website, “Before the movie starts, grab some food from our amazing local food trucks on-site and explore the park, meet our vendors and sponsors, and hang out in the great outdoors! Screening times start at 8:00pm for each movie and a parking map can be found below. Should the weather take a turn for the worst at any of our screenings, a rain date (if available) will be established and announced through all social media outlets. Each screening is also totally BYOCOB–Bring Your Own Chair or Blanket–so make sure to come prepared. Admission and parking are FREE.”
Some of the food trucks that will be at this event include: Clark Brothers Concessions-selling Kettle Corn, Chill City Pops, Action Gyro, Upper Crust Pizza, Hibachi Guys, and Nomad Coffee Company.
Maggie Mace, Recreation Services Manager, said, “The upcoming Movie in the Park is a special night where people can come enjoy the family friendly activities, food trucks, and the family film “The Incredibles”. They can also register to stay and spend a fun-filled evening camping under the stars! It’s really is a wonderful opportunity to make memories with your family and friends!” Maggie has been working with Lynchburg Parks and Recreation for eleven years. She loves knowing that she has had a positive impact on someone she has been in contact with through her job. The children that she has coached and the lifeguards she has trained inspire her every day.
Mace said, “We have been doing Movies in the Park for three years now. During Movies in the Park, we have a range of 400 to 1,300 people come. Our goal for the event is to help build community by bringing people together in our parks.”
There are many businesses are sponsoring this event. Mace said, “MedExpress is our Title Sponsor for the Movies in the Park. We have other sponsors for this event that include: Lynchburg Chiropractic Center, Opportunity Lynchburg, and One Way Out Escape Rooms.”
