The Hornets were recently ranked amongst the other Old Dominion Athletic Conference teams for the preseason poll. The Hornets were placed in second by the votes of the league coaches. Although they were granted 10 first-place votes, LC fell short to Hampton-Sydney for the first-place ranking.

The ODAC poll is not the only preseason ranking LC has graced this season. They were also voted 12 in the USILA/Nike Division III preseason men’s lacrosse coaches poll. Salisbury, who LC plays in their first game of the season, was ranked first in this poll.

Last season, LC made it all the way to the elite eight of the 2017 NCAA Division III tournament. The overall record for the Hornets was 15-7. In conference, they have only lost one game.
