Having lived in Virginia all of my life, I have had the opportunity see Senator Tim Kaine on multiple occasions.

In 1998 Kaine was elected the mayor of the city of Richmond; he served in this position until 2001. Then in 2002 he was elected to serve as the lieutenant governor of Virginia. In 2006, Kaine ran an exciting campaign against Jerry Kilgore for the position of governor of Virginia.

In this election, Kaine beat his opponent by over 110,000 votes. After his four-year term as Governor he served as the chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2009 until 2011. Kaine then ran for Senate and has served in office since 2013.

Most recently he was appointed as the United States Vice Presidential Nominee for the Democratic Party in 2016 by his running-mate Hillary Clinton. Now in his last years of his term he has decided to run for reelection. Senator Kaine has been a public servant his whole life, and he has done amazing things for not only the commonwealth of Virginia but the entire nation.

I had the opportunity to meet Senator Kaine this summer in Washington D.C. and I can assure you that he is an outstanding individual. We are excited to announce that Senator Kaine will be speaking at Lynchburg College on November 11 at 12:30 p.m. in Memorial Ballroom. Following his speech, there will be a question and answer session, followed by an opportunity to take pictures with the senator. We are extremely grateful to have this opportunity and we are looking forward to hearing a champion of Virginia politics.
