Did you watch it last night? The wait is over; ladies and gentlemen, we have our victor. After patiently waiting for months, or even years, to see Floyd “Money” Mayweather go up against “The Notorious” Connor McGregor, head-to-head, eye-to-eye and face-to-face, fans finally got the opportunity to watch it live on the night of Aug. 26.

All summer the two all-time greats rallied up their supporters, told off their haters and dissed one another. Last night, all that ended in the ring. After 10 grueling, physical, down-to-the-wire rounds, a decision was made by the referee, Robert Byrd, to end the highly-esteemed fight

by count of TKO (technical knockout) in favor of Mayweather.

Until that moment, both fighters displayed a very physical and balanced match. In round eight, the judges had the fight equal with two rounds going to both Mayweather and McGregor. By round nine, McGregor began to show signs of fatigue, and against someone as great as Mayweather, it was only a matter of time.

Round nine gave Mayweather an edge on McGregor. With the round going in his favor, he had a 5-4 decision. As Round 10 began, both men came out swinging and connecting left and right, much like how every other preceding round began. Midway into the 10th and final round, Mayweather connected with a sequence of strikes to McGregor that had him reeling. The crowd started getting loud; they knew the fight was coming to an end.

Mayweather connected with another solid left. This had McGregor running to the ropes. The crowd began to roar with “Oohs.” Mayweather pursued, waited, then landed a right and a left on McGregor, and before you knew it, the referee got in the middle and called the match.

It was over, and “Mr. Money” ended his career with a perfect 50 wins, zero losses and 27 knockouts, one of which is now “The Notorious” Connor McGregor.
