Lynchburg College will have voting shuttles that will leave every hour from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from the Schewel Hall parking lot circle on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The shuttles can be used by any student who is registered to vote in this area, the sixth district. The shuttles will take students to vote at the Memorial Christian Church on Perrymont Avenue.

“This election year is very important, and we [hope] that every student has the opportunity to go out and vote! So in order to ensure that students’ voices may be heard, we are putting on this shuttling opportunity,” said Carter Elliott, sophomore and student liaison for the Office of Community Involvement.

The shuttles are being organized by the OCI, which has organized voting shuttles for the past two presidential elections, Elliott stated.

“The voting shuttling is a tool this year that the Office of Community Involvement is using to increase the amount of students that vote on Election Day,” said Elliott.

OCI staff and volunteers who are certified to drive the college’s vans will drive the voting shuttles on Election Day.
