The new installment to Legendary Pictures Godzilla franchise released recently, and was a much needed addition.
“Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” mainly focused on Kong as he attempted to find the long lost family that he so desperately sought out.
What was most interesting about the movie was the focus that it placed on the titan, Kong having more screen time and development than the majority of the human characters.
While having the most screen time, Kong was also capable of pushing the story forward without any actual dialogue, using grunts and facial expressions to make up for where there would normally be dialogue.
As well, the majority of the movie was done using mainly digital effects, not just to make the monsters, but also much of the landscapes and settings.
When it came to the dialogue between the human characters, it was somewhat clunky, while still being beneficial to the story.
The movie felt very much like one of the older monster movies, just upgraded to make it look more appealing to the audience.
More on the story side of the movie, it added to the world and backstory that had been made through the past few movies.
While still being a movie about giant monsters fighting, it also very much went into the origins of the giant monsters, giving them more characterization and personality.
The movie was a fun and exciting experience, being beneficial for audiences that love the huge connected universe movie franchises make as well as the base giant monster fight.
Even if you do not know anything about the previous movies, this one is still an enjoyable watch that is worth the money you spend.
