As the conference season comes to an end, both Lynchburg men’s basketball team and Lynchburg women’s basketball team are expected to get a bid for the ODAC playoffs.
The women’s team currently holds 11 wins against eight losses.
First-year freshman forward Bree Spainhour speaks to what has enabled this, “I think being able to step it up on the defensive end so it will lead to better offense has worked well,” she said.
With six conference games left in the regular season to determine their ranking, sophomore guard Macey Mullins prepares for the final matches.
“We are getting ourselves mentally prepared and pushing each other, now more than ever, in practices everyday,” said Mullins.

The men’s team is at an overall game record of 10-10, splitting their wins and losses down the middle. The transfer junior forward, Jonathan Foust enjoys getting to know his new teammates as they enter the ODACs.
“As a transfer, you are not really sure how your new teammates would act towards you or if they would accept you at all. I would say they did a really great job of accepting me and making me one of their own,” said Foust.
As ODACs approach, the team is faced with five more regular season games to prepare. Senior guard Landon Sutton speaks on the mindset of the team for these last five matches.
“Every game we play is critical to win. We are scouting the opposing teams to learn about their players which will help in ODACs as we already have studied each team we play,” said Sutton.
As both teams near the end of their season, their hard work and devotion throughout the season will soon determine where they stand in the ODACs.
