Kappa Delta’s Shamrock Week Success

Ali Morrison ~ Assistant News Editor

This past week, the Kappa Delta Sorority held their successful, annual Shamrock Week, a week filled with fundraising events to raise money for their philanthropic partnership, Prevent Child Abuse America.

Prevent Child Abuse America is a charity that works not only to solve child abuse in America, but to prevent it as well. Kappa Delta has partnered with Prevent Child Abuse America for many years, and yet again, the sorority brings attention, awareness, and monetary support to a good cause.

The Kappa Delta women started the week with t-shirt sales and a raffle basket.  Additional events included, a bake sale and cornhole tournaments.

At the “Pie A KD” event outside of Drysdale, Teagan McKay said, “Prevent Child Abuse America is such a good cause and we love doing this sort of thing. Even with T-Shirt sales, we have exceeded double the amount we wanted to.”

The sorority also partnered with Outside The Cone, a local ice cream shop, and other fraternities like Phi Kappa Tau. They finished the week-long occasion with a golf tournament at Poplar Forest Golf Course.

Ryleigh Beck said, “Everyone on campus is just so awesome. We have so much fun and we have so many different events.”
