After losing two tough conference games against Eastern Mennonite University and Emory & Henry College, the Lynchburg College Men’s Basketball team found themselves a win at home on Saturday, Jan. 20 against the Hornets of Shenandoah University.

LC beat SU 90-76, earning them their third conference win of the season, which put their record at 3-5 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and 9-8 overall.

Senior forward Connor Schroeder led LC with a total of 32 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Alongside Schroeder, three other LC players scored in double figures. This included junior guard Austin Wrighten who finished with 14 points and nine rebounds, sophomore guard Chance Greene with 13 points, and first-year forward T.C. Thacker who added 10 points of his own. Junior guard Devonte Young led the team in assists with a total of four.

When asked how they plan to continue building on this conference win, Young stated:

“The win has given us momentum and hopefully we can get on a winning streak as conference play begins to wined down and roll into the conference tournament. We know as a team if we play like we need to we are a very good team.”

Looking to continue conference play, LC heads to Guilford College on Wednesday, Jan. 24 for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
